Headington was able to enter five crews to this year’s Fours Head of the River which is the largest entry made by the school for several years. The Fours Head, raced on the River Thames from Chiswick to Putney, is the first major opportunity for crews from Headington to compete against a large number of our national opposition. It is also a rare chance to measure up against adult women’s crews.
The IM1 coxless quad (a senior women’s category) of Katie, Danielle, Liz and Mattea raced well to take 3rd place with a time that would have also put them at the top of the J18 category as well. The second quad of Georgie, Alice, Leith and Lizzie, racing in the J18 division, also found a good rhythm finishing a creditable 13th out of 27.
Headington also had two crews in the IM2 coxed four category finishing 16th and 19th out of 48, we also had a single entry in the J18 coxed four event which came 11th from 15.
