Dear Parents,

Headington are racing on all three days of the regatta this year:

Starting on Friday: J16 4+ and J16 4x-

Starting on Saturday: J18 4+, J18 4x- (and all crews that qualify from the friday)

Sunday: those crews which make it through the rounds on Friday and Saturday

The Draw:

J4x (Racing for The Bea Langridge Trophy). First race: Saturday 23rd, 09:00 (time trial)

J4+ (Racing for The Groton School Challenge Cup). First races: Saturday 23rd, 08:45 (time trial)

J16 4x (Racing for The Nina Padwick Trophy). First race: Friday 22nd, 18:30 (time trial) 

J16 4+ (The West End Amateur Rowing Association Trophy). First race: Friday 22nd, 18:45 (time trial)  

The time tables for each day and the full draw for every event are available on the Henley Women’s Regatta website. Please note that this site will have up to date times and that it should be your first reference.

Boating times for the time trials and race day information can be seen on the competitor instructions page of the event website.

Training at Henley: Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st June:

 In order to best prepare the crews for racing at Henley Women's Regatta the rowing sessions for these crews on Wednesday and Thursday this week will be at Henley on the regatta course. A minibus will depart school at 4:10pm and return by 7pm. Those wihsing to meet us at Henley should aim to arrive by 4:40pm at the latest.

Some crews  may make different timing plans to the one outlined above and coaches will communicate with them directly if this is the case. If you have any questions about this please do let me know.

Itinerary: Friday 22nd June:

J16 crews

15:35 - Meet at school gym and depart for Henley.

16:40 - Arrive at Henely Women's regatta site

16:45 - check boat and begin race preparations

18:00 - J16 4x boating time

18:15 - J16 4+ boating time

18:30 - J16 4x time trial

18:45 - J16 4+ time trial

from 19:30 - depart Henley Women's regatta site

Any boats and blades that are not required for Saturday must be loaded onto the trailer before girls are allowed to depart the regatta

Itinerary: Saturday 23rd:

School Mini Bus departs at: 6am. (there may be another bus departing later depending on which boats proceed through from the Friday - this will be communicated to girls once results are confirmed)

08:45 - Earliest HSOBC race (J4+ time trial)

17:52: Last possible HSOBC race (J16 4+ Quarter final) 

Any boats and blades that are not required for Sunday must be loaded onto the trailer before girls are allowed to depart the regatta.

Itinerary: Sunday 24th:

School Mini Bus departs at: 6am. (there may be another bus departing later depending on which boats proceed through from the Saturday -  this will be communicated to girls once results are confirmed).

09:05 - Earliest possible HSOBC race (J4x quarter final)

15:05 - Last possible HSOBC race (J4x final)

Please note that if girls win a final they will need a smart dress. J16s and below will need their school uniform with blazer. 6th form will need a dress below the knee with shoulders covered: Henley Royal dress code. Seniors who have a boat club blazer should wear these. 

Information: 

1) The draw is available on the Henley Women’s Regatta website. Please note that this site will have up to date times and that it should be your first reference. 

2) Directions: If you are coming from Oxford, drive through Henley, over the bridge, then head up the hill. Once near the top, there is a small lane on your left called Remenham Church Lane; follow this road to the Henley Women’s parking, there is a one way system in place on this road for the duration of the regatta. Do not attempt to access the regatta site via the lane just after Leander club as there is a one way system in place.

3) Parking: there is parking available in the hillside carpark located behind the main regatta site. for a daily fee of £15 if you pay at the gate or £12 if you book online.

4) The regatta start is at Temple Island and finishes at Remenham Club. The regatta enclosure is half way down the course where refreshments can be purchased and car parking is available for a fee. There are no entrance fees to the regatta and the dress code is casual.

5) The Headington gazebos will be on site in the regatta enclosure.
