- A good breakfast before you depart (eg: Porridge, toast and a banana).
- Make sure you have a meal for after your race, such as pasta and banana / fruit

- Kit: It will be cold and possibly wet so you will need a change of kit for after each of your races. Make sure you have enough warm and waterproof kit for when you are sitting around even if it means you bring a blanket down. Coxes and athletes will not be allowed to boat if they are not properly attired for the weather conditions.

Spectating

There is some parking at Surbiton Boathouse and in the surrounding area but the boathouse is beyond the finish and therefore not a suitable location for spectating the race. It is possible to walk from Surbiton up to a position on the bank to watch the last part of the race.

The best place for watching the racing is on (or nearby) Kingston Bridge, there are serveral paid carparks nearby including a large multistory in Kingston itself as well as several bars and resaurants adjacent to the bridge and along the waterfront.
