This year 6 girls were invited to attend the World Potential camp at Holme Pierrepont in Nottingham, however only 3 girls (Charlie, Tess and Franny) could attend as there was a trip to Russia for the other 3 rowers.

Headington School Boat Club started the year’s training off a couple of days before the start of term. The club has seen a great start to the year, with an amazing number of novices joining and the total number of Headington rowers reaching an all-time high.

The early stages of the season is always an opportunity for Headington to put boats out that are not lead / top boats. The purpose of this is to ensure that the whole squad is developed rather than key individuals. Overall the boat club had some very good results considering the fact that they were competing against schools who were boating top crews.

The J13 and J14 rowers competed at the Eversham Junior Head Race this weekend where they recorded the following results:

Well done to the Women’s Junior 13 Quadruple sculls who recorded 1st and 3rd places in their races.
Congratulations to one of our J12s who was third in the Women’s Junior 13 Single Scull. A great achievement!

For several years now its been a tradition of the boat club to have a BBQ at the beginning of term to allow new parents and novices to meet the rest of the boat club and the coaches informally. We had amazing weather this year (for a change!) and there was a great turn out.

A fantastic part of Headington School life. My daughter loves being part of the rowing team and she is supported by such dedicated and enthusiastic coaches.
