Unfortunately the Ergo Championships was cancelled due to the snow! The M40 was closed which would mean that those local to Oxford who have an unfair advantage. A real pity as the scores recorded in the lead up to the event from the Novice, J13 and J14 groups were excellent!

On Saturday 4th February, the J14 squad and upwards competed at Hampton Four’s and Eight’s Head. As a first event since Christmas, it was a great opportunity to test how effective the winter training has been. More importantly, it was an opportunity to have fun away from the sometimes monotonous winter programme.

Charlie Cobb was selected to attend the Junior GB training camp which took place in Nantes, France. This selected took place after the Early ID trials, in November. She joined  7 other sweep girls, 12 sculling girls and the boys squad for what was to be a tough camp.

The Early ID GB trials is the first opportunity for would-be GB athletes to make their mark to those who will eventually select crews for the Junior World Championships and Coupe de la Jeunesse teams. This year the World Junior Championships will be held in Plovdiv: Bulgaria, while the Coupe will be held in Banyoles: Spain.

A fantastic part of Headington School life. My daughter loves being part of the rowing team and she is supported by such dedicated and enthusiastic coaches.
