Dear Parents,

Please see below for arrangements and timings for the South of England Indoor Rowing Championships (SEIRC). Headington have entered the WJ14 individual and team events; the girls will be given their groups for the team event at training this week.

Transport:

The buses will depart at 10:00am at the latest. Please meet outside the school gate on Headley Way at 9:45am. Please note that there are boarders and girls who may be sleeping. YOU MUST NOT MAKE ANY NOISE outside the boarding house but rather wait outside the gate. Transport is available back from the venue however, where possible, please can parents arrange transport back from the event. If your daughter needs transport back to School please let your year rep know.

Please note that there are a large number of Headington girls racing and that it is their responsibility that they follow the coaches instructions and the timings below.

09:45: Meet at Headley Way

10:00: Bus departs from Headley Way.

10:30:  Bus arrives at White Horse Leisure Centre, Abingdon.

12:05: Earliest race time for girls in the Individual event (please note that the racing programme is subject to last minute changes). Rowers note: you are responsible for ensuring that you are ready to race at the correct time, please ensure that you have read the race timetable and the competitors information on the event website. Please stay with your coaches so they can tell you when and where you are racing. Rowers that are late may not be allowed to race. I have instructed coaches that under no circumstances are they to chase girls to get racing.

14:10: Scheduled J14 team event (please note that the racing programme is subject to last minute changes).

15:30: Bus returns to Headington from race venue

Kit and Food

Please ensure the girls have:

- Water bottles with electrolyte replacement fluid.

- Food.

- A good breakfast before you depart (eg: Poridge, toast and a banana).
- Post Race: Make sure you have pasta for after your race, a banana / fruit, a cereal bar and food for your coaches who clearly don't practice what they preach.

- Kit: You will need a change of kit for after your race. Make sure you have enough warm kit for when you are sitting around before and after your race.

- Please note that headphones and personal music devices are not allowed during competition

Transport:

Please note that all girls must use school transport to get to the event unless she has permission from the Mr Hermes to meet us at the race venue. Girls not using school transport must meet the coaches no later than 10:30am at the race venue.

Parking:
